Cocktail foamer
Looking for a VEGG White alternative?
VEGG White is a liquid cocktail foamer used one to one in place of egg white. VERY AQUAFABA does the same job at 20 ml a drink, with a much shorter label: water and chickpeas, no additives and no preservatives. Here are the two side by side, each line taken from a published source. Updated: .
The two labels
| Foamer | What the label lists | Alcohol | Declared allergens | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| VERY AQUAFABA | Water, chickpeas. No additives, no preservatives. | 0% | None of the 14 EU allergens | Product label |
| VEGG White | Water, emulsifiers, methylcellulose, esters of fatty acids, soy lecithin, thickeners, maltodextrin, xanthan gum, acacia gum, preservative E211, antioxidant ascorbic acid | 0% | Soy | Difford's Guide |
Labels checked: October 2026. Formulations change, so each line is read again before this comparison is updated.
Soy on the label
VEGG White declares soy, from its soy lecithin. VERY AQUAFABA contains no soy, no eggs, no dairy and no gluten. Chickpea is not one of the 14 allergens EU law requires on a label, but anyone with a known chickpea or legume allergy should still avoid it. Answer the allergen question before a guest asks.
Dose and format
VEGG White is used one to one in place of egg white. VERY AQUAFABA is measured at 20 ml per drink, poured from a 1L Tetrapak that makes 50 drinks, or made up from powder at 1.3g in 20 ml of water. For a busy bar, the 10L bag-in-box or the 3kg pouch keeps one product across every station.
Try it in a sour you already make
Swap the foamer in one drink you already sell and taste the two side by side. Build as usual, add 20 ml of VERY AQUAFABA, shake dry, then with ice. A pisco sour or a gin fizz shows the head clearly.
